Mayor Hazel McCallion Tribute Dinner

The Mississauga Italian Canadian Benevolent Association (MICBA) with its partner companies organized a Tribute Dinner to celebrate Mayor Hazel McCallion’s 36 years in service as mayor and a devoted member of the community. The event was a huge success with over 500 attendees uniting together to commemorate Mayor Hazel and show their gratitude for her commitment to the City of Mississauga. Mayor Hazel McCallion astounded the crowd by making a grand entrance, driving into the venue in a Gucci Fiat 500. Guests were mesmerized by the décor, wined and dined with a gourmet antipasto and elegant sit-down meal and entertained with live music by the talented band, the Semiotones, led by professor Marcel Danesi. The night was one that will be forever remembered and cherished in the hearts of all who attended.
Les Desjardins hosted their annual Holiday Party at Le Tréport Wedding & Convention Centre and experienced an amusing night of elegance, sophistication and fun. John Cipressi, the President of Le Tréport Wedding & Convention Centre, was selected as a candidate for a feature segment on the TV Series, ‘Profile of Business Excellence’. The premise of the series is to seek out smaller sized companies from a wide array of industries and learn what the owners did to lead their businesses to success. Merton Park Film Studios is a fully integrated production company with over 15 years of experience in the US and Canadian Film and Video Industries. The Executive Producer of the show, Allan Schwartzenberger, is an award winning Producer and Director who has produced over 300 episodes of TV programming. The interview went very well with Redd Ochoa, the Field Producer, appearing to take a strong liking towards Mr. Cipressi. Redd was very intrigued by John’s background and passion for hospitality. We will discover the results of the interview in the New Year. Stay Tuned!

Giving back to Mississauga Community is very important to us at Le Tréport Wedding & Convention Centre. We are consistently putting efforts toward Corporate Social Responsibility. Le Tréport has supported and sponsored several local community groups and fundraising causes including, but certainly not limited to, the Trillium Hospital, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, and multiple local sports teams.
We are currently in the process of initiating and organizing a semi-annual event to raise funds for specific local charities in the GTA region. The function will occur at Le Tréport and be open to the general public. Attendees will be able to make a donation of any size they wish. A different nonprofit organization will be chosen at the start of the year and at the end of the year. All proceeds from the fundraising event will go towards the selected charity groups.
